Thinking of Italy

$35.00$80.00

Exhibited in the Salmagundi Club of New York’s Annual Painting and Sculpture Exhibition in 2018.

This studio painting is based on Rome’s famous Piazza Navona. This pill-shaped piazza is a remnant of one of ancient Rome’s stadiums built by Emperor Domitian. 1500 years later, during the Baroque era, it became the site of a building by Borromini & the famous Fountain of the Four Rivers by his rival Bramante. Today it’s packed with restaurants, artists, and tourists. A must visit for anyone with an interest in classical art & architecture.
