Corinaldo on the Hill

One of many fortified Italian hilltop villages, this particular one is personal to me as the village my grandfather was born. My family name is quite common in the area, but there is no known relationship to the owners of an inn, a brewpub, a winery, a bus company, a pizza parlor, etc. The town is quiet and enchanting. The old stone walls that surround the village are perfectly intact and it’s clear that this area was never ransacked after the fall of Rome and all through the medieval period. The town has been inhabited since Roman times.
