Hooper Straight Lighthouse, St Michael’s MD

This striking and often painted structure is now part of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St Micheals MD. This style of lighthouse, where the house itself is an octagonal structure directly under the actual light, with the whole affair propped up on splayed pilings, is typical of the Bay Area.
