Between the Branches (of Govt)

This stretch of Pennsylvania spans between the Capitol and White House, or the executive and legislative branches of government. In L’Enfant’s original plan the two institutions could look down the road at each other. At some later point the classical facade seen in the center distance here, was built. It’s the US Treasury building, how appropriate. The money got in the way.
